The Premier Bank PLC held its 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday through a digital platform, with Dr. Arifur Rahman, Chairman of the Board of Directors, presiding over the session.
The AGM was attended by board members including Md. Forkan Hossain, Independent Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee; Syed Faridul Islam, Independent Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee; Md. Sazzad Hossain, Independent Director and Chairman of the Risk Management Committee; Professor Sheikh Morshed Jahan, Independent Director; and M. Nurul Alam, FCS, Independent Director and Chairman of Premier Bank Securities Limited.
From the management side, Mohammad Abu Jafar, Managing Director and CEO; Syed Abul Hashem, FCA, FCMA, Deputy Managing Director; and Mohammad Akram Hossain, FCS, Company Secretary, were present. A significant number of shareholders also joined the meeting virtually.
In his presidential speech, Dr. Arifur Rahman thanked the bank’s customers, shareholders, and regulators for their continued trust and support. He said, “Since the inception of this bank, our depositors and shareholders have been our greatest strength, and my responsibility toward them is immense. The new Board of Directors is committed to establishing Premier Bank as a well-governed, transparent, and responsible financial institution through a combination of good governance, accountability, and sustainable banking practices.”
Mohammad Abu Jafar, Managing Director and CEO, presented key highlights from the Annual Report 2024 and urged all employees to continue their dedication and collaboration toward achieving greater success in the coming years.
